An Investigation into Current Sand Control Methodologies Taking into Account Geomechanical, Field and Laboratory Data Analysis

Abstract: Sand production is one of the major issues in the development of reservoirs in poorly cemented rocks. Geomechanical modeling gives us an opportunity to calculate the reservoir stress state, a major parameter that determines the stable pressure required in the bottomhole formation zone to prevent sand production, decrease the likelihood of a well collapse and address other important challenges. Field data regarding the influence of water cut, bottomhole pressure and fluid flow rate on the amount of sand produce… Show more

“…At acidic conditions, this property of asphaltenes is more pronounced due to the large number of carbocyclic groups in the structure. The stability W/O emulsion increases at pH below 7.0, as water drops do not merge well (60,64,(74)(75)(76)(77)(78)(79)(80)(81)(82)(83)(84)(85)(86). In this case, the cationic type MNP demulsifier is preferable.…”

“…The popularity of the application of screw pumping units with electric drive can be associated with the technological necessity of working in complicated conditions when pumping viscous systems with the presence of solid phase and high gas content in the pumped product (8,9). In Russia, screw pumps are not widely used due to their low reliability when operating in wells with low wellhead pressures, but the operating conditions of wells of Russkoye OGCF and analogous fields indicate the promising application of screw pumps, taking into account the increased efficiency of their operation with low wellhead pressures (5,10).…”

“…There is provided an application of in situ water shut-off technologies to minimize water flooding of the wells of the object under investigation [2,5,10,[19][20][21][22][23][24][25]. Therefore, analyzing all the above, it should be noted that well No.…”
