Abstract:The development of computing for chemistry students at The Polytechnic, Woverhampton, is traced from 1967. A philosophy has emerged during this period which emphasises the need for both simple and more complex programs in chemical education at the tertiary level. Examples of presently-used programs are discussed and a suggestion is made that we may now be entering a period of consolidation and validation.
