Power Quality metering instrument is presented, that features high flexibility and communication capabilities and is suitable for a hierarchical network connection. Once deployed, the complete control through the network and long mission time when on the local battery make it suitable for unsupervised applications at electric transportation systems, industrial plants, power generation sites. In this study, the establishment of a control platform for DC motor has been carried out with a personal digital assistant (PDA) using GPRS (General Packet Radio Service). The man-machine interface is achieved with embedded Visual Studio 2005 which includes the Pocket PC 2003, Smartphone 2003 and Windows CE 5.0 software applications. The protocol of application server was created by using basic principles of GPRS control, the client software was performed and the real time torque and speed control of DC motor was realized on a monitor system written on C# language and prepared without using any additional equipment. It was observed that the GPRS protocol used in system control provided many advantages in both time and cost.

This paper presents a new ARM+GPRS structure which can apply in the orchard soil information collection and transmission. It is a design of data acquisition and wireless transmission control system based on ARM9 with a microprocessor chip S3C2410, it is used for orchard soil realtime acquisition, data transmission and control between upper and lower computers through GPRS module. It describes that how the hardware platform works and how to accomplish the design by software. The hardware platform consists of core processor, orchard soil data acquisition module and GPRS communication module. It has been proved by experiments that the system has features of small size, high performance, real-time and low-cost.
