An intelligent network service prototype using knowledge processing

Abstract

This pnprr &scribes an intelligent electronic secretary service developed as an example of providing communication services ushg M i o r intelligence (N) techniques. It processes incom'ng calls in much t k same woy as irs hunmn secretary.( I ) It automtuically md@s or supplements incorrect or missing user(2) It automOncally utends its knowledge base for individual llscrs instrnclionr in dealing with incoming calk.wing a learning function. We developed a sem'ce protorype consisring of a switching system and computer to evaluate t k praclicali~y of the s h e .Our results svggesr that the electronic secretary sewice is practical and confirm that N techniques can be a key to controlling advanced c m ' c a l w n services.
