AbstractThe Manggar base in Balikpapan, Indonesia, one of Schlumberger's largest facilities, provides a wide range of services to the oil and gas industry. Base operation requires a large clean water supply and wastewater management program that meets Schlumberger's and the Indonesian government's regulatory environment requirements.The challenges that Schlumberger faced locally included an insufficient clean water supply from the community, the lowquality ground water, and a sensitive coastal environment.
