Multi-criterion decision-making models are widely used in supplier selection problems. This study contributes to a green supplier selection problem considering the green manufacturing, green transportation, and green procurement. This study contributes to reverse logistics, eco-design, reusing, recycling, and remanufacturing with their high impact on the industries. In addition to the logistics costs and transportation costs, the carbon emissions are considered. With regard to the game theory, this paper uses a cooperative green supplier selection model. If transportation requirements of two or more companies are combined, it will help manufacturers to have less emissions with lower cost. After creating the optimization model to consider the uncertainty, this cooperative game theory model is established in a fuzzy environment. In this regard, a fuzzy rule-based (FRB) system is deployed and the set of fuzzy IF–THEN rules is considered. The proposed FRB model is contributed for the first time in the area of green supplier selection problem. Finally, some sensitivity analyses are conducted in a numerical example to evaluate the proposed model. With regard to the findings, although the cost of CO 2 emission of horizontal cooperation is increased, the cost saving of companies is increased. It means our total cost is optimal in a logistic network using the cooperative game theory. The results also indicate that horizontal cooperation in logistic network causes less cost and benefits for each company. Energy Efficiency of Inland Waterways Transport for Agriculture: The Ukraine Case Study

In Ukraine, there has been an increase in agricultural production. The availability of river basins and seaports contributes to the use of inland shipping. However, there is a lack of understanding of how to reduce the energy consumption of inland shipping. We assume the hypothesis that the energy efficiency of inland shipping is much higher than it is technically possible. The purpose of this study is to identify perspective energy-saving technologies for IWT. We use statistical information to determine the export potential and to reveal the status of inland navigation. Traction efficiency, theoretical and actual specific fuel consumption were used as indicators to determine the energy efficiency. The main results are as follows. We have found the grain and sunflower seed production in the Dnieper Basin (Ukraine). Their shares range from 34.75 to 50.92% of national production. Therefore, there is a significant flow of products for inland shipping. The present status of inland waterways transport has been analyzed. The main novelty of this study is the finding of actual and theoretical technical specific energy consumption. It is revealed that actual specific energy consumption is five times higher compared to the theoretical one. Self-propelled vessels are inferior in energy efficiency to towing barges. The energy efficiency of inland waterways transport has been compared to railways and road freight transport. Transport management was identified as the more effective tool to improve the energy efficiency of inland shipping.

Maritime transport plays a vital role in economic development. To establish a vessel scheduling model, accurate ship maneuvering models should be used to optimize the strategy and maximize the economic benefits. The use of nonparametric modeling techniques to identify ship maneuvering systems has attracted considerable attention. The Gaussian process has high precision and strong generalization ability in fitting nonlinear functions and requires less training data, which is suitable for ship dynamic model identification. Compared with other machine learning methods, the most obvious advantage of the Gaussian process is that it can provide the uncertainty of prediction. However, most studies on ship modeling and prediction do not consider the uncertainty propagation in Gaussian processes. In this paper, a moment-matching-based approach is applied to address the problem. The proposed identification scheme for ship maneuvering systems is verified by container ship simulation data and experimental data from the Workshop on Verification and Validation of Ship Maneuvering Simulation Methods (SIMMAN) database. The results indicate that the identified model is accurate and shows good generalization performance. The uncertainty of ship motion prediction is well considered based on the uncertainty propagation technology.
