An integrated design method for remanufacturing process based on performance demand

Abstract: Design for remanufacturing process (DFRP) plays a key role in implementing remanufacturing because it directly affects the performance recovery of the End-of-Life (EoL) product. Since the used parts have various failure forms and defects, these make it hard to rapidly generate the remanufacturing process scheme for satisfying the performance demand of the used product. Moreover, remanufacturing process parameters are prone to conflicts during the process of implementing remanufacturing, this leads to the failu… Show more

“…In previous studies, Hartono (2020) provided an approach that combines Kano and TRIZ in the KE framework to complete a sustainable service design that meets the Kansei needs of users, using the example of international airport lounge and concourse services. Ke et al (2022) analyzed performance requirement data with the help of KE and QFD, and mapped the requirements to engineering features, combining Theory of Constraint (TOC) and TRIZ to innovate remanufacturing process solutions. Although these several theories have been widely used in various design fields, researchers focus only on the local development process.…”

“…Then, sensors and RFID technology are used to collect the remanufacturing workshop and remanufacturing process data in real time, and the real-time communication of virtual and real data can be realized. Then BPNN algorithm is used to predict the remanufacturing process scheme based on the failure characteristic parameters, product information parameters, and customer demand [25]. Furthermore, the DT model is used to simulate the remanufacturing process and analyzes the size error, performance error, and feasibility of the remanufacturing process.…”

“…In the complex product design and development stage, mapping the customer's technical functional requirements and subjective preferences into detailed product attributes and design parameters into the product design can provide an important basis for the product's principle scheme and structural design [17,18]. In the process of product manufacturing, by accurately describing product performance demands and mapping them to engineering features to resolve parameter conflicts in the manufacturing process, the purpose of optimizing the manufacturing process plan can be achieved [19]. van Steenbergen and Mes [20] predict the demand for new products before the launch of products based on historical sales data and product characteristics, which can provide effective support for enterprises' business decisions such as procurement and inventory control.…”
