BACKGROUND: Navigation portable applications have largely grown during the last years. However, the majority of them works just for outdoor positioning and routing, due to their architecture based upon Global Positioning System signals. Real-Time Positioning System intended to provide position estimation inside buildings is known as Indoor Positioning System (IPS). OBJECTIVE: This paper presents an IPS implemented as a mobile application that can guide patients and visitors throughout a healthcare premise. METHODS: The proposed system exploits the geolocation capabilities offered by existing navigation frameworks for determining and displaying the user’s position. A hybrid mobile application architecture has been adopted because it allows to deploy the code to multiple platforms, simplifying maintenance and upgrading. RESULTS: The developed application features two different working modes for on-site and off-site navigation, which offer both the possibility of actual navigation within the hospital, or planning a route from a list of available starting points to the desired target, without being within the navigable area. Tests have been conducted to evaluate the performance and the accuracy of the system. CONCLUSION: The proposed application aims to overcome the limitations of Global Navigation Satellite System by using magnetic fingerprinting in combination with sensor fusion simultaneously. This prevents to rely on a single technology, reducing possible system failures and increasing the scalability.

The healthcare environment is made up of highly complicated interactions between many technologies, activities, and people. Ensuring a solid communication between them is vital to ease the healthcare management. Semantic ontologies are knowledge representation tools that implement abstractions to fully describe a given topic in terms of subjects and relations. This scoping review aims to identify and analyse available ontologies which can depict all the available use-cases that describe the hospital environment in relation to the European project ODIN and its future expansion. The review has been conducted on the Scopus database on January 13th, 2023 using the PRISMA extensions for scoping reviews. Two reviewers screened 3,225 documents emerged from the database search. Further filtering led to a final set of 32 articles to be analysed for the results. A set of 34 ontologies extracted by the identified articles has been analysed and discussed as well. The results of this study will lead to the implementation of a common integrated ontology which could hold information about healthcare entities as well as their semantic relationships, strengthen data exchange and interconnections among people, devices and applications in an expanded scenario which include Internet of Things, robots and Artificial Intelligence.

Analysis of the russian market of software products for real estate management

Active sanctions against Russia, including in the field of information technology, lead to a situation where the dependence of organizations on software products non-Russian origin may be a serious problem. Consequently, the task of analyzing the Russian software market, to which this article is devoted, seems relevant. The authors have reviewed one of the software classes – automation systems for real estate management, Computer Aided Facilities Management (hereinafter – CAFM-systems) in a foreign terminology. The article deals with the evaluation and ranking of software products, on the basis of which recommendations for their use in projects are formulated. For this purpose, a list has been formed consisting of twelve Russian CAFM-systems registered in the Unified Register of Russian Computer Programs and Databases; a set of evaluation parameters has been developed, divided into two groups – functional and non-functional parameters; an evaluation methodology using mathematical decision-making methods has been proposed; a group of experts has been formed; an expert evaluation and ranking of systems according to the developed methodology was conducted; a rating of systems with an indication of the companies-developers has been built. The results of the study show that the Russian market of CAFM-systems has been formed and provides customers interested in software products of this class with a fairly wide range of alternatives for choice. The conducted research, on the one hand, has practical value for specialists working with such software products, and, on the other hand, scientific value expressed in the proposed holistic methodology of market analysis, which can be extended to other types of software products by specifying a set of comparison parameters.
