An integrated ACO-AHP approach for resource management optimization

Abstract: The most often used operator to aggregate criteria in decision making problems is the classical weighted sum model or weighted sum model. However, in many problems, the criteria considered interact and a substitute to the weighted sum model has to be adopted. Multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) problems involve the ranking of a finite set of alternatives in terms of a finite number of decision criteria. Usually such criteria may be in conflict with each other. A typical problem in MCDA is concerned with the … Show more

“…The ant colony optimization (ACO) approach has been adopted as a method to optimize UAS path planning. Fallahi et al [59] proposed a method that integrated ACO and an analytic hierarchy process that showed good results for path planning using the ACO algorithm. An adaptive ant colony optimization approach for multiple UASs for coordinated trajectory re-planning was proposed by Duan et al [60].…”

“…Optimizing resources for multi-criteria decision making using ant colony optimization (ACO) and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was proposed by Fallahi et al [59]. Unlike other approaches that rank a finite set of alternatives in a multi-criteria decision making problem, this approach utilizes the ACO to obtain optimal solutions satisfying some of the path-planning criteria.…”

“…Finally, in Ref. [23] an integrated multi-criteria decision making approach to design an optimal resource management based on fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is formulated. In this approach, the ant colony optimization is used to obtain optimal solutions satisfying some path planning criteria and to select the best set of vehicles.…”

“…Solutions are evaluated using three objectives, with a goal of maximizing flexibility in accomplishing each task within its closure time, and minimizing fleet cost and total task duration. Finally, in [12] an integrated multi-criteria decision making approach to design an optimal resource management based on fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is formulated. In this approach, the ant colony optimization is used to obtain optimal solutions satisfying some path planning criteria and to select the best set of vehicles.…”
