Abstract:Background: Atypical wound infections following minimal access surgery continue to affect smooth recovery. Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) for renal stones involves various small-sized nephroscopes and accessories. Improper cleaning and disinfection of which may result in bacterial biofilms formation and infections.
