An Injection Cannula that Enhances the Versatility of Split–Splitless Inlets

Abstract: A simple low-cost cannula assembly that extends the range of applications of standard split-splitless gas chromatography inlets has been constructed and applied in the laboratory. With no other modifications to the inlet, it allows true on-column injections with thin needles, and the use of fused-silica transfer lines and special devices, such as wide bore in-needle traps and sample enrichment probes, while still allowing normal injections by standard microsyringes.
