An inertial delay observer-based sliding mode control for active suspension systems

Abstract: In this paper, an active suspension system based on an inertial delay observer combined with sliding mode control is proposed for a quarter-car model. The inertial delay observer estimates the states and the uncertainties and disturbances of a system simultaneously. It is an extension of the inertial delay control which estimates the uncertainties of a system but needs the measurement of all states. The proposed scheme needs only the sprung mass position sensor for its implementation. The overall stability of … Show more

“…Multitudinal sliding mode controller is controlled the mismatched uncertainties using inertial delay control (IDC). 26 The IDC is used to estimate the number of mismatched disturbances/uncertainties. Moreover, it allows the sliding controller to design in such a way that it reduces the relative degree by the system state as artificial input.…”

“…Active suspension can solve the problem of driving comfort and control stability under different working conditions that cannot be solved by traditional passive suspension. In recent years, some new control strategies have been put forward , so research into the active suspension system combining with new control strategies has become a hot topic in recent years .…”
