An Inclusive Survey on Marine Predators Algorithm: Variants and Applications

Abstract: Marine Predators Algorithm (MPA) is the existing population-based meta-heuristic algorithms that falls under the category of Nature-Inspired Optimization Algorithm (NIOA) enthused by the foraging actions of the marine predators that principally pursues Levy or Brownian approach as its foraging strategy. Furthermore, it employs the optimal encounter rate stratagem involving both the predator as well as prey. Since its introduction by Faramarzi in the year 2020, MPA has gained enormous popularity and has been em… Show more

“…MPA is an optimization technique inspired by nature that adheres to principles that naturally control the best foraging tactics and encounter rates between predators and prey in marine environments. The hunting and foraging strategies of marine predators, such as sharks and dolphins, serve as the basis for MPA [ 43 , 44 ]. The four key phases used for the simulation are predation, reproduction, migration, and exploration.…”

“…The marine predators algorithm (MPA) mimics the best foraging methods and encounters rates of predators and prey in maritime ecosystems. It mimics the hunting and feeding habits of marine predators, such as sharks and dolphins 61,62 . MPA simulations are divided into four major phases: predation, reproduction, migration, and exploration.…”

“…The metaheuristic algorithm with relevant forecast model parameters can also increase the forecast performance of time sequence. Recently, different optimization algorithms have been presented for different optimization problems, such as Archimedean optimization algorithm (AOA) [33], Northern goshawk optimization (NGO) [34], Marine predators algorithm (MPA) [35], and Hunter prey optimizer (HPO) [36].…”
