By providing the Lund Model fragmentation process with a quantum-mechanical framework we extend the results of [6] to situations where there are very many identical bosons. We investigate the features of the weight distributions in some detail and in particular exhibit three-particle BE-correlations, the influence on the ρ-spectrum and the difference between charged and neutral pion correlations.

Using data from e + e − annihilation into hadrons, taken with the OPAL detector at LEP at the Z pole between 1991 and 1995, we performed a simultaneous measurement of the colour factors of the underlying gauge group of the strong interaction, C F and C A , and the strong coupling, α s . The measurement was carried out by fitting next-to-leading order perturbative predictions to measured angular correlations of 4-jet events together with multi-jet related variables. Our results, C A = 3.02 ± 0.25(stat.) ± 0.49(syst.) , C F = 1.34 ± 0.13(stat.) ± 0.22(syst.) , α s (M Z ) = 0.120 ± 0.011(stat.) ± 0.020(syst.) , provide a test of perturbative QCD in which the only assumptions are non-abelian gauge symmetry and standard hadronization models. The measurements are in agreement with SU(3) expectations for C F and C A and the world average of α s (M Z ).

for the L3 Collaboration Multiplicity fluctuations are studied both globaly (in terms of high-order moments) and locally (in terms of small phase-space intervals). The ratio of cumulant factorial to factorial moments of the charged-particle multiplicity distribution shows a quasi-oscillatory behaviour similar to that predicted by the NNLLA of perturbative QCD. However, an analysis of the sub-jet multiplicity distribution at perturbative scales shows that these oscillations cannot be related to the NNLLA prediction. We investigate how it is possible to reproduce the oscillations within the framework of Monte-Carlo models. Furthermore, local multiplicity fluctuations in angular phasespace intervals are compared with Monte-Carlo models and with first-order QCD predictions. While JETSET reproduces the experimental data very well, the predictions of the Double Leading Log Approximations and estimates obtained in Modified Leading Log Approximations deviate significantly from the data.
