An Improved Blade Vibration Parameter Identification Method considering Tip Clearance Variation

Abstract: Blade tip timing (BTT) technology is the most effective means for real-time monitoring of blade vibration. Accurately extracting the time of blade tip reaching the sensors is the key to ensure the accuracy of the BTT system. The tip clearance changes due to various complex forces during high-speed rotation. The traditional BTT signal extraction method does not consider the influence of tip clearance change on timing accuracy and introduces large timing errors. To solve this problem, a quadratic curve fitting t… Show more

“…Trough the actual measurement of the static radial calibration experiment, the radial measurement range of the TR81 type eddy current displacement sensor is 0.1∼0.55 mm under the condition that the blade is stationary [26]. Te specifc process for static circumferential calibration within this measurement range is as follows: frst, we align the center of the eddy current sensor probe with the center of the blade tip to be measured, adjust the blade tip clearance, and keep it constant.…”

“…In China, TIANJIN UNIVERSITY has firstly carried out research on the measurement of vibration parameters of non-contact rotating blades based on tip-timing [7][8][9]. In addition, the NATIONAL UNIVERSITY of DEFENSE TECHNOLOGY, BEIJING UNIVERSITY of CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY and LIAONING UNIVERSITY of TECHNOLOGY have also conducted in-depth research on this technology [10][11][12][13][14][15].…”
