An Image Encryption Algorithm Using Logistic Map with Plaintext-Related Parameter Values

Abstract: This paper deals with a plaintext-related image encryption algorithm that modifies the parameter values used by the logistic map according to plain image pixel intensities. The parameter values are altered in a row-wise manner, which enables the usage of the same procedure also during the decryption. Furthermore, the parameter modification technique takes into account knowledge about the logistic map, its fixed points and possible periodic cycles. Since the resulting interval of parameter values achieves high … Show more

“…The suggested system provides NPCR 99.6994% and UACI 31.5592%, while the entropy value is 7.9996. Oravec et al [16] proposed a plaintext-related picture encryption technique that changes the parameter values of the logistic map in response to pixel intensities in the plain image. Row by row, the parameter values are changed, allowing the same encryption and decryption technique to be used.…”

“…− NPCR and UACI NPCR value tells the rate of change of a number of pixels in an encrypted image when a pixel of the original image is changed [11], [16]. The highest value is the better in the encryption [25], [27], NPCR of an image can be defined as (11).…”

“…[ 29 , 30 , 31 ] shows some typical methods for cracking cryptosystems based on scrambling-diffusion structures. To solve the problems of low-density sensitivity and plaintext sensitivity, researchers have proposed some image encryption schemes related to plaintext in recent years [ 32 , 33 ]. They all relate the key system to the characteristics of the plaintext image through different methods.…”
