The cooling of the surface of the solar photovoltaic (PV) system is a major operative factor in achieving greater efficiency. Correct cooling can improve electrical efficiency and reduce cell degradation rates over time. This results in increasing the life of the solar PV modules. In industrial and domestic utilization, the cooling system is used for the removal of excess heat. This paper presents a new method for cooling systems for solar PV. The additional feature of the method has been the tracking of sunlight for efficient power generation. Further, the extra heat can be utilized for other purposes including heating and power generation through thermal means. The concept of the proposed system has been explained in detail with the pictorial representation. Also, for the validation of the improved performance of the proposed system, a detailed comparison with the conventional methods have been provided for five different cities of Saudi Arabia. The proposed system shows improved performance for all operating conditions.

This document analysis the methods of stimulating renewable energy (RES) in various countries, describes the barriers and problems that hinder the development of alternative energy. Studies conducted in countries with a developed renewable energy sector will allow us to conclude that the development incentive systems (Feed-in-tariff (FIT), Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard (RSP), auctions, reverse auctions and various tax incentives) have had the required impact and the government of such countries has moved to establish parity between renewable and traditional energy, as well as to optimize the systems for promoting the development of clean energy. Green energy in countries that are actively developing renewable energy are building models and infrastructures based on the experience and methods of solving the problems of countries with a developed RES support system.

Solar-based power generation is gaining attention worldwide as it is environment-friendly, and highly sustainable. Saudi Arabia is bestowed with vast solar energy availability. This should be the driving force for generating solar electricity to the optimal. However, the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) is not as widespread as expected. As purposed-built cities emerged from the Kingdom's new economic development and renewable energy initiatives, they should lead the way for solar energy utilization. This paper aims to investigate the public perception and acceptance towards rooftop solar electrification in such cities in Saudi Arabia. Survey questionnaires were distributed to a sample population of Yanbu Industrial City to measure the perception, and readiness towards installing rooftop solar systems and gauge the populace's concerns. The outcome shows a variation of awareness levels, positive perception, and mix-readiness towards installation. The main barriers are the relatively low cost of fossil fuel-based electricity and the lack of clear incentives from authorities. Homeowners are more willing to invest in solar electricity for long term gain. Household income also has significant effects on the willingness for investment. The scenario analysis indicated that less than six years of payback could be achieved with the PV system which can be an attraction.
