Abstract: This paper explores the potentialities of hydrochar in protein separation and enzyme immobilization for non-energy biorefinery applications of hydrothermal carbonization. An innovative experimental procedure monitors soluble protein−hydrochar interactions and enzymatic reactions in a continuously stirred tank reactor.
