“…Johnson et al (1994) examined how criminal justice agencies and a host of social service agencies viewed child abuse and spouse abuse and found that different approaches were followed by various agencies. Dolon and Hendricks (1989) focused specifically on attitudes about elder abuse among police officers and social service providers to see whether the groups had different beliefs about the factors contributing to elder abuse. They surveyed 51 police officers and 55 social service professionals and found that police officers believed family conflict was more important than social service workers did.…”
