Abstract:The interactions of salts with polyampholytes are well established using the Hofmeister series. However, the effect of these salts on the diffusivities of polyampholytes is unknown. This article discusses these electrostatically driven physical interactions using two developed prediction models. Sodium and Potassium salts are considered with 3 chaotropic anions and 2 kosmotropic anions. A dimensionless parameter has been developed to predict the trend for these salt interactions. Another model has been develop… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
