Indoor air quality is important for an individual's quality impacts human comfort, health, and performance. This research aims to identify the effect of variations in air conditioner (AC) temperature control systems and air purifier (AP) fan speed on PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations and recommendations for AC and AP settings to remove aerosols with high efficiency and lower electrical energy with statistical test. The highest percentage of PM2.5 and PM10 removal when the AC was set to a temperature of 22°C with the AP turned on automatically, namely 89.7% in removing PM2.5 and 90.98% in removing PM10. The lowest percentage of removal of PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations when the AC temperature was set to be turned on at 25°C with the AP set turned off, namely 40.57%. The first recommendation is to set the AC to be turned on at 25°C and the AP to be turned on automatically for using 80 minutes, which has a percentage of 84.8% with a price of 17,400 IDR/month. The second condition that can be recommended is setting the AP to be turned on automatically, but the AC set turned off, which has a percentage of 89.29% for 1,800 IDR/month.

This study investigated variations in a long-term air temperature record in Port Said; to conclude the presence or absence of climate change in this important Egyptian city. The data collection spans 31 years, from 1991 to 2021. The research examined the homogeneity of the annual data, and the linear regression approach to specify the trend of air temperature variations throughout the study period. Moreover, the study investigated the trend significancy by using the Mann-Kendall test, the anomaly calculations and statistically specified the extreme air temperature events. Results revealed that the data were homogenous. Monthly mean air temperatures had increasing trends with varying rates, and the annual increasing trend had a rate of + 0.04°C/yr at 99% confidence level. A negative anomaly period existed only during the period 1991–1997, and as of 1998 the anomaly was always positive. The extreme air temperature times were precisely specified. Four extreme high and 12 extreme low monthly events were detected throughout the study period. The year 2010 (22.7°C) and the year 1991 (20.5°C) were determined as sole years of respectively extreme high and extreme low mean annual air temperatures. The research findings are regarded to be a trustworthy indicator of climate change in Port Said.

With the recent dramatic growth of the building sector’s energy consumption to provide thermal comfort to consumers, the constraints of climate change and the scarcity of energy supplies have necessitated a wiser and more effective reduction in the amount consumed. As a result, phase change materials (PCMs) have attracted much interest as latent heat thermal storage systems in recent decades. This paper aims to explain the possibility of using PCMs in buildings by establishing an overall conceptual framework for the processes of selecting and integrating PCMs in building sector applications. Moreover, it leads to a comprehensive matrix that identifies the best and most common type of material for each building’s component, as well as its temperature and thickness properties, its thermal impact, and the most popular integration techniques. The findings show paraffin as the major used type in all building components, while salt hydrate is employed in facades. The most prevalent incorporating technique is macro-encapsulation, which prevails in most building components with its direct effect on cooling and heating applications.
