An Expedient Method for Excavation of Foxholes

Abstract

Engineering Applications of Commercial Explosives (MEACE) program under Project 4A762719AT40, "Mobility, Soils, and Weapons Effects Technology." It did not apply to any specific work unit and as such was not intended as a complete study leading to a problem solution. Rather, this test series was intended to determine if the concepts as presented herein had any merit which warranted further consideration. Assisting in the field work were Messrs. Sherman B. Price, John E. Shaler, and Melvin Miller. This report was prepared by MAJ George A. Woodbury, Project Engineer, and by Mr. A. D. Rooke, Jr., Explosion Effects Division (EED), Structures Laboratory.
