An evaluation of the relationship between dependency and ward atmosphere in an Adolescent In-patient Mental Health Service

Abstract

The relationship between the dependency levels of adolescent in-patients and the ward atmosphere was measured using a cross-sectional-design. A statistically significant correlation was found, indicating an inverse relationship between level of dependency and ward atmosphere; as dependency increases ward atmosphere decreases.
