“…The majority of the known moderate and extreme halophilic bacteria are included in the phyla Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, Bacteroidetes, Cyanobacteria and Spirochaetes (Jacob et al ., 2017). Hypersaline microbial communities from high altitudes are dominated by members of Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Firmicutes and Actinobacteria and in some environments by members of the Verromicrobia, Cyanobacteria and Deinococcus‐Thermus phyla (Boutaiba et al ., 2011; Casamayor et al ., 2013; Naghoni et al ., 2017; Rathour et al ., 2020; Zhu et al ., 2020), all of which were identified in this study.
