An EQ-5D-5L Value Set for Vietnam

Abstract: Purpose The objective of this study was to develop an EQ-5D-5L value set based on the health preferences of the general adult population of Vietnam. Methods The EQ-VT protocol version 2.1 was applied. Multi-stage stratified cluster sampling was employed to recruit a nationally representative sample. Both composite time trade-off (C-TTO) and discrete choice experiment (DCE) methods were used. Several modelling approaches were considered including hybrid; tobit; panel and heteroscedastic models. First, models u… Show more

“…The combination of responses yielded 3125 unique health statuses [19]. By using a cross-walk value set developed for Vietnam, 3125 health statuses were converted into 3125 single indexes within the score range of –0.566 to 1.000 [19,20].…”

“…Each health state interpreted in one single "utility" score, which can be converted by using the interim scoring for the EQ-5D-5L (EuroQol Research Foundation, 2019). In the present study, we utilized the Vietnamese value set with the score ranging from -0.5115 to 1 (Mai et al, 2020). In addition, another element of EQ-5D-5L is Euroqol Visual Analogue Scale (EQ-VAS), was also used for participants to self-rate their health with the value ranging from 0 (worst imaginable health) to 100 (best imaginable health) (EuroQol Research Foundation, 2019).…”
