An EOQ Model of Selling-Price-Dependent Demand for Non-Instantaneous Deteriorating Items during the Pandemic COVID-19

Abstract: A pricing factor plays a dominant role in consumer behavior in most countries affected by the COVID19 pandemic. People have lost their job while others renegotiated for low-paying jobs during this pandemic. Thus, this article aims to develop a viable model to consider various aspects of the COVID19 pandemic. Here, we develop an optimal ordering quantity inventory model of deteriorating items, which are still in demand depending upon the selling price of the product. The items are assumed to be non-instantaneou… Show more

“…Rahman et al [33] presented a parametric approach for addressing interval differential equations in an inventory model for deteriorating items where the demand is influenced by selling prices. Indrajitsingha et al [34] developed an EOQ model that integrates selling-price-dependent demand with considerations for non-instantaneous deteriorating items, taking into account the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on supply chains and demand uncertainty. Sekar et al [35] proposed a comprehensive inventory model that incorporates sustainability considerations at three levels for items susceptible to defects and deterioration with rework under marketplace selling prices.…”

“…They have solved their formulated problem by genetic algorithm and GAMS software. An economic ordered quantity (EOQ) model has been investigated by Indrajitsingha et al [16] with non-instantaneous deteriorating products during the present COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, they have seen the effect of partially-backlogging shortages.…”

“…Determine the worst value Z − 1 of Z 1 by putting the values of s p , g, T, T 3 and β (obtained by minimizing Z 2 ) in Equation (16). After that, determine the worst value Z + 2 of the functions Z 2 by substituting the values of s p , g, T, T 3 and β (obtained by maximizing Z 1 ) in Equation (17).…”

“…Biswas & Islam [18] developed a production inventory model where demand is dependent on selling price and advertisement. Indrajitsingha et al [19] analyzed inventory model for non-instantaneous deteriorating items of selling price dependent demand during the pandemic Covid-19, where the deteriorating rate is considered to be time dependent.…”
