“…Actually, GO is a kind of functional nanomaterials used widely, which contains large number of hydrophilic groups such as hydroxyl, carboxyl, and carbonyl on both sides of the sheets. Since graphene was reckoned as a strong contender to carbon nanotubes, GO-based materials have attracted a great deal of attention due to their wide applications in gas sensors [1], Li-storage [2,3], catalyst supports [4], and water purification [5]. GO nanosheets can be easily prepared by chemical exfoliation of graphite in bulk quantities.…”

“…The underwater plants are also seriously damaged. 4 Furthermore, oil-polluted water usually contains toxic chemicals, which may harm human health or even have a disastrous impact on the ecosystem. Therefore, the development of materials for the collection and removal of large amounts of organic pollutants from water is attracting global attention.…”

“…However, these materials suffer from problems such as low capacity, inconvenient to use and potential safety issues [2]. Therefore, there is an urgent need for effective methods to deal with such environmental disasters and to help preserve the environment for the longterm [3].…”

“…Moreover, the graphene sponge could be repeatedly used by simple treatment without obvious structure and performance degradation. Gao et al has reported three kinds of graphene oxide sponges fabricated using different freezing methods of unidirectional freezing drying, non-directional freezing drying, and air freezing drying [3]. It showed that the adsorption capacity of the graphene oxide sponges made by unidirectional freezing drying was higher than 100 g/g for all the oils tested (gasoline, diesel oil, pump oil, lubricating oil and olive oil) and had the highest value of about 122 g/g for olive oil.…”
