An Energy-Efficient Mobility-Based Cluster Head Selection for Lifetime Enhancement of Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract: Wireless based sensor networks contain sensors for environment monitoring but have restricted resources. Many clustering protocols are designed to prolong network lifetime but have problems of inadequate cluster head selection criteria, fixed clustering, and static rounds which consume more energy. It is needed to develop an adaptive clustering strategy for better CH selection and load balancing. In this article, we introduced an energy-efficient mobility based cluster head selection mechanism to overcome thes… Show more

“…With the objective of optimal head selection in hierarchical topology control, a solution based on fuzzy clustering and particle swarm optimization was proposed, mainly aimed at CH selection in hierarchical topology control, reducing the node mortality rate and prolonging the network life cycle [16]. Then, a CH selection based on energy-efficient mobility was proposed to achieve the channel selection and load balancing based on special parameters, which have a great impact on sensor energy consumption [17].…”

“…At the point when the network is heterogeneous, the values of reference of every node must vary regarding starting energy. In the case of a heterogeneous network, we have replaced the value of reference p optimal with a mass probability stated in equation.12.in the case of the normal and extraordinary node as Standard election protocol (SEP) convention (22)(23)(24)(25)(26) .…”

“…In specific, the optimal cluster head selection scheme is still classified into heuristic and meta-heuristic methods. These strategies are developed for providing solutions to optimization problems generally based on empirical nature with simple and compact theories [10]. Different heuristic algorithms were contributed in the literature for resolving the issues of heterogeneity [11].…”
