In the era of in-depth application of knowledge technology in the field of education, the teaching mode combining school English teaching and network data technology is widely used in school English education. Teaching resources have become electronic resources under the influence of digital information technology. However, English teaching often ignores all aspects of English ability, so there are still shortcomings in English teaching. The role of information technology makes a single English teaching text model unable to meet the needs of scholars. In recent years, multimodal events have enriched the expression of language input and output content, which is in line with the learning needs of current students. Therefore, under the premise of digital information technology, this paper constructs a multimodal English teaching model from the aspects of multimodal English teaching resources, multimodal English teaching activities, and multimodal English teaching analysis. It aims to mobilize the enthusiasm of scholars to learn English from various aspects and build a multimodal teaching mode of English for teachers supported by digital data technology. Therefore, the experiment shows that the multimodal teaching mode of college English based on digital information technology proposed in this paper will mobilize the enthusiasm of students to learn in a comprehensive way. It greatly improves students’ English performance, promotes the development of students’ autonomous learning ability and comprehensive language ability, and improves the quality of English teaching by 20%.

The big data era of “data-driven schools, analysis, and change education” has arrived, and the technology of data mining was born in the education industry. Based on data mining technology, this study explores English listening prediction strategies and training approaches. Prediction is an effective learning strategy in listening comprehension. Cultivating students to use predictive strategies is helpful to improve their listening comprehension, mining and analyzing the listening data generated by English skill training system, selecting the data related to students’ listening as features, aiming at students’ test listening scores, carrying out model training, and realizing the prediction of students’ listening. After evaluation and analysis, it is found that data mining technology can be used to predict students’ listening more accurately.

English is an important international language. Whether it is international economic or international political communication, it is inseparable from English. English teaching is mainly to impart the basic knowledge of English as well as the knowledge of audiovisual knowledge. However, the traditional English teaching mode often ignores the expression of English emotion and the background of English. The traditional English teaching mode often uses textbooks and other forms to impart knowledge, which can no longer meet the English teaching in today’s era. Computer-aided systems have become an important technology in the field of teaching today. Multimedia technology can also show English knowledge to students in the form of video or audio. This will increase students’ interest in learning English. This research will use computer platform and multimedia technology to build a new English teaching platform. It also uses the ConvLSTM algorithm and the CF algorithm to implement the active recommendation function of English knowledge. The research results show that multimedia technology can achieve the purpose of collecting video and audio information in the process of English teaching. The CF algorithm has a specific high similarity index in recommending English knowledge. The ConvLSTM method can also better predict the characteristics of English grammar and English emotion in the English teaching process. This can also show that the multimedia-assisted English teaching mode has a certain use value for different English teaching scenarios.
