One potential candidate mechanism is innovativeness (Pelka et al 2016). In one study of entrepreneurs from both the USA and Slovenia, 331 entrepreneurs completed questionnaires on creativity (using the Entrepreneurial Curiosity Questionnaire- (Jeraj 2014) and innovativeness (using an adaptation of the Jackson Personality Inventory-Jackson 1994).…”

“…Innovativeness is based on knowledge; a new way of doing things must be based on a new way of looking at things (Marcati et al, 2008). Innovation is the single business activity that most closely relates to economic growth (Soriano & Huarng, 2013;in: Peljko et al, 2016).…”

“…Adapters are doing things better within the accepted (given) frame of thinking while innovators prefer to do things differently, because they redefine the problem, moving away from established patterns and frames. As the study of Peljko et al (2016) reveals, entrepreneurs should invent in their companies and stimulate innovative behaviour among their employees, which leads to synergies and higher innovativeness of companies (as well family firms) (Letonja, 2016).…”
