2006 Furan derivatives R 0060An Efficient Synthesis of an Optically Active (-)-(3R,4R,5R)-4-(1-Hydroxyl-isopropyl)-3-acetyloxyl-butyrolactone. -The synthetic pathway to title compound (VIII), employing a reductive cleavage reaction and Sharpless asymmetric epoxidation /dihydroxylation by AD-mix-α as key steps, is reported.
