An Efficient SDN Load Balancing Scheme Based on Variance Analysis for Massive Mobile Users

Abstract: In a traditional network, server load balancing is used to satisfy the demand for high data volumes. The technique requires large capital investment while offering poor scalability and flexibility, which difficultly supports highly dynamic workload demands from massive mobile users. To solve these problems, this paper analyses the principle of software-defined networking (SDN) and presents a new probabilistic method of load balancing based on variance analysis. The method can be used to dynamically manage traf… Show more

“…For our evaluation, we will introduce three traffic routing systems; First, we will present the Floodlight's default forwarding system as a baseline for our comparison. Next, we will introduce the reactive based load balancing system presented in [5] [9]. Finally we will introduce our smart networking design system that uses virtual slicing to make efficient use of the network.…”

“…From all the links in the successful links set, we will find a path that can support the flow and add that path to the AvailPaths set (Algorithm 3 -Lines (6-7). With that, the last step will be to update the flow entries for the switches within the path to accommodate the changes in the network paths ((Algorithm 3 -Lines (8)(9)(10).…”

“…Hoje, servidores de balanceamento de carga são usados para satisfazer a demanda de grande volume de dados, porém essa técnica necessita de grande capital de investimento e oferece baixa escalabilidade e flexibilidade. Isso acaba dificultando o suporte a demandas com carga de trabalho altamente dinâmicas [41].…”
