An efficient nonlinear circuit simulation technique

Abstract: Abstract-This paper proposes a novel method for the analysis and simulation of integrated circuits (ICs) with the potential to greatly shorten the IC design cycle. The circuits are assumed to be subjected to input signals that have widely separated rates of variation, e.g., in communication systems, an RF carrier modulated by a low-frequency information signal. The proposed technique involves two stages. Initially, a particular order result for the circuit response is obtained using a multiresolution collocati… Show more

“…Thus, for example, choosing ν = 3, c = [−1, 0, 1] and m k ≡ 2, the coefficient of f (0) is nil and we recover the sixth-order formula with ν = 3, s = 1, above. On the other hand, once we let m = [2,3,2], we obtain…”

“…Today wavelet-based algorithms are already in productive use in a broad range of applications [6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13], such as image and signal compression (JPEG2000 standard, FBI fingerprints database), speech recognition, numerical analysis (solving operator equations, boundary value problems), stochastics, smoothing/denoising data, physics (molecular dynamics, geophysics, turbulence), medicine (heart-rate and ECG analysis, DNA analysis) to name just a few. Recent approaches [14][15][16][17][18] to the problem of multirate envelope simulation indicate that wavelets could also be used to address the qualitative challenge by Kai Bittner University of Applied Science of Upper Austria, 4232 Hagenberg, Austria, e-mail: kai.bittner@fh-hagenberg.at Emira Dautbegovic Infineon Technologies AG, 81726 Munich, Germany, e-mail: Emira.Dautbegovic@infineon.com a development of novel wavelet-based circuit simulation techniques capable of an efficient simulation of mixed analog-digital circuits [19].…”
