An Efficient Method for Simulating the Temperature Distribution in Regions Containing YAG:Ce3+ Luminescence Composites of White LED

Abstract: A thermal model was built to estimate the temperature distribution in the hemispherical packaging volume of a white LED at a steady state. Inherent heat sources appeared in the white LED when its power was measured. A simplified 3D to 2D space process that improves the model and solves the heat diffusion equation in a simpler and faster manner is presented.
