An Efficient Energy Conservation Dynamic Consistency Algorithm for SDN Control Plane

Abstract. Centralized control, the main idea of SDN (Software-Defined Networking) to simplify the control flow, may make SDN suffer from performance bottlenecks. Therefore, we need to use a distributed control plane to overcome the problem. But there are also consistency problem in distributed control plane of SDN. In this paper, we first quantize the consistency, communication costs and availability with relevant research of SDN distributed control plane. Secondly, by normalized calculation, we find the relationship between them. Then we propose a dynamic consistency algorithm for the control plane of SDN. Finally, we corroborate the validity of the algorithm by some experiments. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively improve the plane consistency of SDN control.
