Against the background of the commonality of issues facing district-heating systems (DHSs) in Russia and Mongolia, the prospective strands to overcome them through the widespread adoption of modern methods of mathematical modeling and information technologies are addressed in this paper. A brief description of the long-term experience of cooperation between the Energy Systems Institute of Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ESI SB RAS) and the scientific and energy enterprises of Mongolia in the field of computer technologies for the analysis and development of operating parameters of the DHS is given. The study shows that this experience is in line with the current global trends in the modernization of district heating systems based on their digitalization and smartization. The concept of intelligent (smart) DHSs, their advantages, as well as the issues arising on the way of the DHS transformation into cyberphysical self-controlled systems are revealed. The results of the analysis of the state-of-the-art scientific and methodological developments and software in the field the DHS analysis and control smartization are discussed. The main results obtained at the ESI SB RAS in the formulation of the DHS adaptive control problems and the creation of a single information space are presented along with the methods for resolving specific issues of analysis, identification of models, and DHS optimization. In a dense HetNet enhanced with MCC and MEC technologies, an efficient usage of limited radio resources and augmented network infrastructure is critical to achieve the best possible user experience and network performance, while realizing an efficient and effective response to the big data requirements of mobile devices. Considering this 5G-based dense HetNet architecture, this thesis proposes: (1) a Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) based data storage algorithm that minimizes the data transmission delay during transmission of a big data file from the UE to the cloud data centre; (2) a mechanism design based algorithm to efficiently transfer big data files with minimum transmission delay from the UE to the cloud data centre; and (3) an Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) based energy-aware algorithm to jointly allocate the radio resources and transmit the big data file from the UE to the cloud data centre. Simulation results are provided, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms in comparison to the Greedy and the Data Split Multiple UE (DSMU) algorithms in terms of transfer delay, time required by a UE to store the big data file, and energy consumed by the UE during transmission.

Problems and technologies of remote access to unified information space of urban pipeline systems

The paper presents the experience of applying modern information technologies while operating the urban pipeline systems. Consideration is given to the main problems interfering with ensuring the efficient modes of pipeline systems operation that are caused by uncertainty and inconsistency of information on the actual condition of the system that, in turn, are originated by different technological factors. The paper also pays attention to the lack of continuity, inconsistency and duplication of data in different software packages (accounting, billing, resources planning and management, geo-information systems, SAPR, SCADA, digital models of pipeline systems, etc.) used by companies, which complicates operation of pipeline systems. The paper discusses advantages of development and introduction of unified information space in a company, related problems of its updating, and methods of remote access to it. Causes originating this problem are analyzed and ways for its solution are searched for from the standpoint of the latest information technologies. For solving this problem the authors propose specialized software that implies active use of wireless communication channels, mobile devices, etc. This mobile information package is briefly described as a prototype intended for remote access to unified information space of a company and to a digital model of the pipeline system in particular using mobile communication devices. Considered are the advantages of this development and scenarios of its application.
