Purpose -The purpose of this research is to examine the undergraduate thesis methodology, programming languages, and databases utilized to create thesis projects. The study's findings will open a wide range of researchable topics and will usher in new trends in computer science. There will be new insights in developing and proposing thesis proposals which will introduce various applications of a prospective research study. 2096Method -The manuscript from 2005 to 2019 served as initial information with the name of students, advisers, and panel members. The titles are converted into lowercase characters for easy categorization utilizing the features MS Excel transposition method and PivotTable. Special symbols like dash, colon, parentheses, slash, and apostrophe are removed to provide a list of common words. Standard frequency count and categorization of special project titles were used to count per year, filter, and categorize the titles according to keywords.Results -The study showed that students are familiar with different methodologies, programming languages, databases, types of development, and application tools in writing special projects. Most projects are inclined toward a desktop application that uses Visual Basic as the programming language.Conclusion -In software development, they used application tools to support the development process of the applications, and they used open-source tools. The type of study or research dictates the right decision in choosing the right methodologies to meet the study's objectives. They used tools to improve their design, convenient interaction with programming languages, and practical wise for faster development.Recommendations -The results will be an opportunity to expose and explore computer science researchable areas, especially theories and concepts of computing. The study results shall serve as Manuscripts that are valuable assets of the institutions and should be preserved.Research Implications -Capstone initiatives significantly contribute to the government, academia, business, cooperatives, religious institutions, and private groups. Approximately 60% of capstone projects are directly related to or have resulted in information systems for the organization. This advancement significantly affected the ITE program's directions, and the study established research options, including the capstone project's proposed research fields. Furthermore, supply excellent inputs to academic programs that will open new trends in researchable domains. Once students begin to submit capstone projects, this may have an impact on the research fields of the IT degree program.

Use and Perceptions of Multi-Monitor Workstations: A Natural Experiment

Using multiple monitors is commonly thought to improve productivity, but this is hard to check experimentally. We use a survey, taken by 101 practitioners of which 80% have coded professionally for at least 2 years, to assess subjective perspectives based on experience. To improve validity, we compare situations in which developers naturally use different setups-the difference between working at home or at the office, and how things changed when developers were forced to work from home due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The results indicate that using multiple monitors is indeed perceived as beneficial and desirable. 19% of the respondents reported adding a monitor to their home setup in response to the Covid-19 situation. At the same time, the single most influential factor cited as affecting productivity was not the physical setup but interactions with co-workers-both reduced productivity due to lack of connections available at work, and improved productivity due to reduced interruptions from coworkers. A central implication of our work is that empirical research on software development should be conducted in settings similar to those actually used by practitioners, and in particular using workstations configured with multiple monitors.

La tecnología avanza cada día con más velocidad, hace pocos años el uso del internet no era un asunto de primera necesidad como lo es ahora, si alguien indicaba que la internet desplazaría a la prensa escrita, hubiese sido ignorado, pero esa es la realidad actual, por lo cual la carrera hacia el uso de la web se ha vuelto muy competitiva y todas las empresas se están encaminando en esa dirección. Los desarrolladores informáticos se orientan al desarrollo web y es una necesidad conocer cuál lenguaje de programación es el idóneo para la elaboración de un sitio web. A través del método comparativo de investigación este trabajo se orientó hacia el reconocimiento y análisis de dos de las herramientas de desarrollo web más utilizadas en la actualidad como son ASP.NET y PHP. Se presentan los beneficios y falencias de cada una de ellas, exploradas por diversos autores, dándole al lector una idea general de lo que se puede alcanzar. Es un apoyo importante para la definición de la herramienta más adecuada para el desarrollador de aplicaciones web. Se consideran los aspectos más relevantes de ambas herramientas para dar mayor claridad al momento de decidir cuál escoger. Es importante conocer las opciones que brinda el lenguaje de programación por seleccionar ya sean estas funcionales o administrativas. Se concluye que a la hora de seleccionar el lenguaje de programación se debe de tener en cuenta todas las características y definiciones planteadas que harán del software un producto de calidad que agregue valor a la operación de la empresa.
