An Effective Design and Implementation of Hybrid MPP Tracking Scheme Based on Linear Tangents & Neville Interpolation (LT-NI) Technique for Photovoltaic (PV) System

Abstract: Solar power is free from environmental pollution and also offers economic benefits to the investors. In order to optimize at most solar power, tracking schemes are employed and traditional schemes from the family of perturbation suffer from slow response, due to specific step size disruption and oscillations around operating point. Therefore, this paper proposes an effective design and implementation of a hybrid Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) scheme based on Linear Tangents-Neville Interpolation (LT-NI) t… Show more

“…In Equation ( 15), the 'ρ' vector is a random variable that assigns weights for the MPP to reinforce (ρ > 1) or lessen (ρ < 1) the effect of MPP location in the determination of distance in Equation (16). It helps avoid trapping in local optima and enhances the stochastic behavior of the ChOA technique.…”

“…The proposed approach is successful in effectively tracking MPP. A hybrid MPP tracking method using linear tangent and Neville interpolation (LT-NI) is applied to track the maximum power of the PV system [16]. Despite having efficient performance under uniform irradiance change, the proposed technique fails to track the MPP during partial shading cases.…”

“…However, the proposed technique had fewer bifurcations due to climatic changes. Researcher [6] proposed the hybrid linear tangents (LT) and Neville interpolation (NI) algorithm for GMPP tracking under PSC. The algorithm eliminates the constant regions of the PV power derivative concerning zero volts at the projection of linear tangents at 75% and 90% of the open-circuit voltage.…”
