An Educational Experience with a Focus on Plants: Capacity Building in Nutrition Students in a Brazilian Laboratory-Vegetable Garden

Abstract: Food systems deal with all actors and their interrelated activities in "production, aggregation, processing, distribution, consumption, and disposal of food." They consist of several subsystems, such as agriculture and food supply, and, with the multiplicity of participants and dimensions involved in the systems, have impacts on the social, economic, and environmental scales on a global scale (FAO 2013).
