An economic production model for time dependent demand with rework and multiple production setups

Abstract: In this paper, we present a model for time dependent demand with multiple productions and rework setups. Production is demand dependent and greater than the demand rate. Production facility produces items in m production setups and one rework setup (m, 1) policy. The major reason of reverse logistic and green supply chain is rework, so it reduces the cost of production and other ecological problems. Most of the researchers developed a rework model without deteriorating items. A numerical example and sensitivit… Show more

“…Also [41] explained an integrated inventory product model with a single-stage production process and reworking faulty objects. [42] presented rework with multi-production fixings. [43] investigated an economic generation quantity model for three kinds of faulty goods with rework the economic production quantity (EPQ) model problem for a single object below the hypotheses of the defective commodity, and complete rework has been performed by [44].…”

“…An EPQ model based on the retailer's stock level was proposed by Kaliraman et al (2015) wherein it is prescribed that the rate of deterioration is Weibull distribution and the production cost is consisting of raw material cost, labor cost, wear and tear cost and environmental cost. Singh et al (2014) proposed an economic production model for time dependent demand with rework and multiple production setups where production is depending on the demand. Due to learning effect of employees, holding cost partially constant and partially decreasing in each cycle which is studied in Sangal et al (2016).…”

“…With the increase in the volume of iron and steel production and consumption, analyzing inventory in realtime has become very important. Inventory is all the products with monetary value that are kept idle in the production process for the consumption of goods or services in the production and sales process [75]. In order for a product to be considered an inventory as an idle resource, it must first have an economic value.…”
