“…The seed cost was the highest contributor to the total cost, with a proportion of 42.31%. Similar to the findings of this research, ANSAB (2011), Timsina (2010), and Sonwani et al (2018) all reported the cost of seed as the main contributor of ginger farming cost. Although Pandey et al (2015) and Paudel et al (2016) suggested a similar scenario, they suggested the share of the seed's cost to be almost 1.5 times more than a finding of this research.…”

“…Punjab has the greatest number of regulated markets in the country (Mann, 2017). Furthermore, Banjare (2016) highlighted that the major constraints in the marketing of spice crops were high cost, lack of post-harvest management, and fluctuation in production prices, whereas Sonwani et al (2018) argued that lack of storage facility, standardization, and grading at the grower level were the main constraints in the efficient marketing of spice crops. Major constraints in marketing are high fluctuation in market price, lack of processing facilities, lack of proper transportation facilities, unawareness of market price information, unorganized market, and the low market price (Chalise et al, 2019;Kala et al, 2020).…”
