An eco-friendly ultrasound-assisted deep eutectic solvent-based liquid–phase microextraction method for enrichment and quantification of nickel in environmental samples

Abstract: An eco-friendly and easy ultrasound-assisted liquid phase microextraction approach using deep eutectic solvent (UA-DES-LPME) was established to preconcentrate and separate trace amount of nickel (Ni(II)) in various environmental samples before flame atomic absorption spectrometric estimation. In this method, Ni(II) was complexed with 2-(benzothiazolyl azo) orcinol reagent. The impacts various parameters on the microextarction of Ni(II) was investigated. The calibration graph is linear in the range of 1–500 µg … Show more

“…It is easy to construct and shows the weaknesses of the studied method. In summary, the results of the green metrics presented a detailed environmental friendliness profile and confirmed compliance with environmentally friendly practices in most cases [ 28 34 ]. The green assessment results were presented in Table 8 .…”

“…The output is a clock-like graph with the total score and the color representation in the center. The perfect analysis has a score of one and is represented by a dark green color [40] , [41] . The pictogram AGREE in Table 5 indicates the highest score (0.77) for the spectrofluorometric method described, indicating an excellent green analysis…”

“…4 Vanadium(V) and nickel (Ni) are considered the most toxic metallic species present in HOFA. 5,6 They are easily leachable by rainwater in disposal landlls. On the other hand, V and Ni have wide applications in the industry; they are used as alloying elements in steel and other special alloys.…”
