Activity around the later church of St Dochdwy dates back to the Iron Age, while a Roman villa was constructed during the 2nd century AD and was occupied until the early‐4th century AD (Holbrook & Thomas, , p. 2). Radiocarbon dating confirmed that burial at the site had commenced by the period AD 370–640, and continued until around the 11th century AD (Holbrook & Thomas, , p. 88).…”
