This paper investigated the use of special eyeglasses designed with a built-in video camera and microphone for the purpose of recording classroom activities from the point of view of both the professor and the student. The aim is to eliminate the need for dedicated video recording in the classroom. This paper reviewed the various techniques used to record a lecture and highlighted the advantages and disadvantages of each. It also presented 10 activities from the point of view of the student and the professor, which may play a role in improving students' understanding of the lecture. The videos produced by the professor and student cameras were reviewed in terms of their effectiveness and usefulness with regard to the 10 activities. The results were analysed and conclusions were drawn based upon the findings of this study.

We propose a method for synthesizing an undistorted highresolution image of a lecture room. A certain degree of high-resolution videos can be captured using commercially available high-resolution cameras. However, the resolution of objects captured by these cameras is not enough for viewers of a lecture video. To get sufficient high-resolution lecture videos, we synthesize multiple images captured by low cost cameras using a planar perspective projection. However, lecturers are distorted by the projection because they are not planar objects and do not exist on planar objects in a lecture room. To get an undistorted figure of a lecturer, we introduce a fixed-viewpoint projection using a lecturer tracking camera. As a result, we could get more high-resolution images including an undistorted figure of a lecturer than ones captured by a standard high-resolution camera.Index Terms-lecture video synthesizing, homography, fixed-viewpoint projection, lecturer tracking camera

A Virtual Camera Team for Lecture Recording

We present the design of a virtual camera team for lecture recording based on the teamwork of a real camera team. A major problem with traditional lecture recordings is that they tend to be boring for the students, especially if only the slides and the audio of the lecturer are presented. In a first step, we determine the different roles in a camera team, their tasks and how they collaborate to apply cinematographic rules. We then adapt these results to a distributed computer system and show how they can be implemented. We present early evaluation results, and we conclude that lecture recordings can be much more lively and interesting using our approach.
