An Automatic Bearing Fault Diagnosis Method Based on Characteristics Frequency Ratio

Abstract: Bearing is a key component of satellite inertia actuators such as moment wheel assemblies (MWAs) and control moment gyros (CMGs), and its operating state is directly related to the performance and service life of satellites. However, because of the complexity of the vibration frequency components of satellite bearing assemblies and the small loading, normal running bearings normally present similar fault characteristics in long-term ground life experiments, which makes it difficult to judge the bearing fault s… Show more

“…From the bearing parameters, the fundamental frequency generated from the bearing elements can be calculated. Typically, four fundamental frequencies are used to describe bearing operation [36]. These fundamental frequencies are fundamental train frequency (FTF), ball spin frequency (BSF), ball pass frequency of outer race (BPFO), ball pass frequency of inner race (BPFI).…”

“…Still, this method is computationally complex and selects the IMF with the least noise rather than the most fault information. Wu et al took kurtosis as the index and three as the threshold to obtain the reconstructed signal by adding the eligible IMFs [21]. However, kurtosis is easily affected by noise and is unstable [22].…”
