An automated approach for classification of plant diseases towards development of futuristic Decision Support System in Indian perspective

Abstract: The major cause for decrease in the quality and amount of agricultural productivity is plant diseases. Farmers encounter great difficulties in detecting and controlling plant diseases. Thus, it is of great importance to diagnose the plant diseases at early stages so that appropriate and timely action can be taken by the farmers to avoid further losses. The project focuses on the approach based on image processing for detection of diseases of soybean plants. The soybean images are captured using mobile camera ha… Show more

“…Kutty et al [8] has used the neural network based system to classify the watermelon leaf diseases of Downey Mildew and Anthracnose. This classification is based on the color feature extraction from RGB color model. In this paper, we are using image processing technique for the detection of plant leaf diseases.…”

“…Yogesh Dandwate et al [12] developed an "automated method for classification of plant malady towards the improvement of futuristic decision support system in Indian perception". Researchers discuss a method for identification of malady of soybean plants (dataset 120) color b and cluster-based technique is used for segmentation.…”

“…Various techniques of image processing are used for correctly identifying and classifying the diseases of plants. Paper [4] proposes the classification of plant diseases by using the technique of image processing that uses SVM classifier for discriminating healthy and diseased soybean leaves. Different mobile cameras were used in different farms and a database of 120 images is prepared for testing the algorithm.…”
