An audit of the use of chest radiography in the elderly mentally ill

Abstract: Chest X‐rays are widely used in the investigation of patients with both functional and organic mental illness. For patients with dementia their routine use has been recommended by many authorities. However, the existing evidence to support such use is not strong.
