An audio encryption scheme based on Fast Walsh Hadamard Transform and mixed chaotic keystreams

Abstract: This paper introduces an audio encryption algorithm based on permutation of audio samples using discrete modified Henon map followed by substitution operation with keystream generated from the modified Lorenz-Hyperchaotic system. In this work, the audio file is initially compressed by Fast Walsh Hadamard Transform (FWHT) for removing the residual intelligibility in the transform domain. The resulting file is then encrypted in two phases. In the first phase permutation operation is carried out using modified di… Show more

“…The proposed DNA based approach for image encryption employs a chaotic sequence, which is deterministic and can produce a non-linear sequence [7]. It brings the advantages of unpredictability, pseudo randomness, and extremely sensitive to system control parameters and initial values [4,7,10,13,24,27]. Also, Chaos systems can eventually return to the original state from the proceeded state [8][9][10].…”

“…The security level (i.e., complexity) of the security algorithm seems to have an impact on these measurement factors [8,13,14]. Constructing new speech encryption algorithms based on chaos theory to increase the security level has drawn for many scientists and researchers attention [15][16][17][18][19][20][21], but unfortunately some of these constructed algorithms have a number of practical problems in terms of cryptanalysis attacks [22,23]. In this paper, a new dynamic speech encryption algorithm using Lorenz chaotic map over IP network is proposed.…”

“…In practical, Lorenz chaotic map has useful cryptographic properties such as confusion and diffusion, sensitivity to initial conditions and parameters, and un-predictability [20]. Therefore, Lorenz chaotic map is used in this paper to propose a new symmetric speech encryption algorithm.…”
