“…These structures are zeolitic rhombohedral which has cavities that can host alkali metal ions and water molecules, cubic (Fm-3m) and hexagonal (R-3c), related to Zn atom in octahedral and tetrahedral coordinations, respectively [15,36]. Based on the data revealed from both FTIR and XRD analysis, the zeolitic rhombohedral, K 2 Zn 3 [Fe(CN) 6 ] 2 ÁxH 2 O, is the structure mainly proposed for the prepared zinc hexacyanoferrates under the applied experimental conditions.…”

“…Some zinc hexacyanoferrates have been reported as hexagonal where Zn 2+ atom is found tetrahedrally coordinated to four N atoms from CN ligands. Such coordination provides a relatively high thermal stability to these materials and also an interesting porous framework because both metal centers have saturated their coordination sphere with atoms from the bridge group (-CRN-) [15]. Hexacyanoferrates obtained by chemical precipitation are physically fragile and require a solid support when used in columns.…”

“…The currently accepted structure model for alkali-free PB was presented in the 1970s by Buser et al [7], derived from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. Most PBA structures are isotypic with that of PB and crystallize in the cubic space group Fm 3m, albeit structures with lower symmetries do exist [15,16].…”

“…The 3D structure of hexacyanometallates is formed by the assembling of the octahedral anionic building unit, [M n (CN) 6 ] nÀ6 , through a second transition metal linked at the N ends. Usually that second metal (T) has also octahedral coordination and a solid with a cubic unit cell is obtained.…”
