“…This harmonious combination of the above factors makes it possible to stop the increase in the use of pesticides, which will slow down the growth of pesticide environmental pollution (Kartashov & Kazakova, 1988;Stancheva, 2005). At the same time, scientists have proved that introducing complex (integrated) systems into production, which expect the biologization of protection with its transfer to an ecological and economic basis, is recognized as the most promising today (Robaka, 2001). It is separately noted that it uses resistant varieties (hybrids) in such integrated systems that provide the highest economic effect (Wu, 1994).…”

“…This plant pathogen produces downy mildew disease (DMD) in cucumber which is destructive in nature and consequently reduces fruit yield of cucumber. Several fungicides have been tested to control DMD (Gupta and Shyam, 1998;Gupta et al, 1993;Robak, 2001;Sharma et al, 2003;Ferenc et al, 2014) but still DMD occurs and causes reduction in yield and economic loss to the farmers. Hence, in order to find out the good alternative fungicide to control DMD, the field experiment on the efficacy of ametoctradin 300g/l + dimethmorph 225 g/l SC against downy mildew disease of cucumber was conducted.…”

“…Gupta and Shyam (1996) also reported that metalaxyl combined with mancozeb was the most effective treatment in reducing the number of sporangia. On the other hand Robak (1995) stated that the combination of cymoxanil, mancozeb and chlorothalonil gave the best control of cucumber downy mildew P. cubensis.…”

“…Thakur and Mathur (2002) stated that stability of resistant varieties to downy mildews depends on the evolution of new pathotypes or races of the pathogen. Furthermore, according to Robak (1995) even a resistant cucumber variety, under high infection pressure, has to be chemically protected against downy mildew disease.…”
